Hello All!

Welcome to the newest torture of David M. No, no, no, not torture. Fun rather, however it has been torture to learn how to navigate around this ‘create your own website’ thing. I can’t tell you how many hours I have spent setting up these first few pages you will look at & since you will definitely not stay long enough for me to think I spent my time wisely, here I am asking myself, What Am I doing?!?

My love for pipes & tobacco is causing all of this so I do know what I am doing. You will find several types of content here. Articles, usually the long kind so if you can, pack a bowl before you start reading. Interviews with pipe makers. Some of you may remember the interviews I did for the West Coast Pipe Show a few years back. All of them will be coming back, new & improved & updated. Articles, interviews and random blurbs about the hobby. That’s what you can expect from me.

What can I expect from you? I hope you participate as much as you can. I will be setting up some submission pages for…you guessed it, your pipes and pictures of them. I believe that you, like me, spend way too much time staring at pipes on the internet. Since we all do it anyways, might as well say it, there will be a Pipe Porn page which I hope you will help me populate.

Please bear with me as I learn how to make these pages look nice and formatted. You will likely find various errors throughout.

I hope you enjoy the site.

David M.

David – This is a great start! The interviews show that you have a gift for asking questions that allow the subject to open up and feel comfortable expressing ideas and opinions clearly and without reserve. This is a fascinating way for all of us to learn more about the process and the intent that gives us the finished pieces we treasure as smoking instruments and as works of art. It is obvious that you do, indeed, know what you are doing and that, combined with ample evidence that these artisans certainly do as well, gives us rich food for thought in delightful texts and images to ponder as we puff away on our favorite pipes.

Wow. When you told me your website was up and running, I certainly didn’t expect anything like this. Tons of quality reading, professional layout, easy navigation…I’ve got to tell you, I’m impressed! Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some reading to do.
